RIDASCREEN®FAST Aflatoxin is a competitive enzyme immunoassay for the quantitative analysis of aflatoxin in cereals and feed.

Aflatoxins are secondary metabolites produced by the fungi species Aspergillus flavus, parasiticus and nomius. Aflatoxins are highly toxic even in low concentrations. In addition, they belong to the strongest natural occurring carcinogenic substances.
In order to protect consumers against the harmful effects of aflatoxins, many countries specified limit values. Food exceeding these maximum permitted levels shall not be placed on the market. According to Regulation (EU) No. 1881/2006, the limit value in the EU is 4 µg/kg (total aflatoxin content). To ensure that the produced food does not exceed this limit value, regular analyses are necessary.
