SureFast® STEC Screening PLUS is a real-time PCR kit for the direct, qualitative detection of DNA sequences of the virulence factors stx1 (subtype a-d) and stx2 (subtype a-g) of Escherichia coli. Each reaction contains an internal amplification control (PLUS).
For DNA-preparation the use of SureFast® PREP Bacteria is recommended.
The real-time PCR assay can be used with established real-time PCR instruments, equipped for detection of two fluorescence emissions at 510 nm and 580 nm (FAM and VIC/HEX) at the same time.
The technical validation of instruments was performed on Agilent Mx3005P, BioRad CFX 96, Roche LightCycler® 480 II, Roche LightCycler® 2.02, Applied Biosystems 7500 and Qiagen RotorGene Q.
