GENERAL INFORMATION:
AFIAS-1 is a compact single-channel automated lateral flow immunoassay platform.
The system uses "all-in-one" test cartridges, including all necessary reagents, and enables the qualitative and quantitative determination of a large number of analytes in various samples - blood, incl. capillary; plasma; serum; urine; nasopharyngeal swab.
PRINCIPLE OF THE METHOD
The method is based on antigen-antibody reaction and fluorescence technology. The system uses a diode laser as a light source and, upon contact with the test cartridges, induces fluorescence from the fluorochrome-labeled analyte complexes accumulated in the test line on the membrane. The fluorescence intensity is scanned and converted into an electrical signal. The on-board microprocessor calculates the analyte concentration in the test sample based on a pre-programmed calibration obtained from the AFIAS ID chip inserted into the ID chip port. The calculated quantitative result is displayed on the AFIAS-1 display screen.
