General Information:
The MxA/CRP Fluorescence Immunoassay Rapid Test is a fluorescence immunoassay designed for the quantitative detection of Myxovirus Resistance Protein A (MxA) and C-reactive protein (CRP) in human whole blood, serum, or plasma samples. The test is used with a Dry-type Fluorescent Immunoassay Analyzer and supports more specific differentiation between viral and bacterial infections.
Myxovirus Resistance Protein A (MxA) is an intracellular protein that increases in the presence of acute active viral infections. MxA is induced by type I interferon and becomes elevated during the early stages of infection, making it a reliable biomarker for viral immune response. In bacterial infections, MxA levels generally do not increase.
C-reactive protein (CRP) is an acute-phase protein and a widely used marker of inflammation. Its levels increase in response to microbial infections and tissue injury, serving as an important indicator in the evaluation of inflammatory conditions and clinical decision-making.
The combined detection of MxA and CRP provides more accurate and efficient differentiation between viral and bacterial infections, supporting improved interpretation of clinical findings and therapeutic decisions.
