    Aerobic Culture Bottle FA

    Description:

Blood culture is an essential microbiological method for the detection and recovery of microorganisms from blood and other normally sterile body fluids. Early detection of microorganisms in the bloodstream is essential for the diagnosis and monitoring of serious infections associated with bacteremia, fungemia and sepsis.

Aerobic Culture Bottle FA is an in vitro diagnostic medical device designed for the qualitative recovery and detection of aerobic and facultatively anaerobic microorganisms from blood and other normally sterile body fluids.

The bottle contains a nutrient culture medium formulated with Tryptone, Gelatin Peptone, Yeast Extract, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Polyanethol Sulfonate (SPS), Sodium Pyruvate, Hemin, Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide (NAD), vitamins, amino acids, carbohydrates and Resin. The formulation contains specially selected growth factors that support the growth and detection of fastidious and slow-growing microorganisms.

The bottle is under vacuum and contains a controlled atmosphere with CO₂ and oxygen. The added macroporous and cationic resins provide high neutralizing activity and help reduce the inhibitory effects of antibiotics and other inhibitory factors present in clinical specimens, thereby supporting microorganism recovery.

The highly resistant plastic material of the bottle provides a high level of biosafety during the handling and processing of clinical specimens.

The product is intended for use with automated blood culture and microbial detection systems. Microbial growth is monitored using an integrated colorimetric sensor that detects changes associated with the production of carbon dioxide and other acidic metabolic products during microbial growth. The change in sensor colour also provides a visual indication of microbial growth.
