    Anaerobic Culture Bottle FN

    Description:

Blood culture is an essential microbiological method for the detection and recovery of microorganisms from blood and other normally sterile body fluids. Testing for anaerobic microorganisms is particularly important in the diagnosis of bloodstream infections caused by microorganisms that grow in the absence of oxygen.

Anaerobic Culture Bottle FN is an in vitro diagnostic medical device designed for the qualitative recovery and detection of anaerobic and facultatively anaerobic microorganisms from blood and other normally sterile body fluids.

The bottle contains 40 mL of culture medium formulated with selected nutritional components, including Tryptone, Gelatin Peptone, Yeast Extract, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Polyanethol Sulfonate (SPS), Sodium Pyruvate, Hemin, Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide (NAD), vitamins, amino acids, carbohydrates and Resin. The culture medium contains specially selected growth factors that support the growth and detection of fastidious and slow-growing microorganisms.

The culture system contains antibiotic-neutralizing components that help reduce the inhibitory effect of antibiotics on microorganisms present in clinical specimens. Macroporous and cationic resins provide high neutralizing activity and support microorganism recovery in the presence of antibiotics and other inhibitory factors.

The bottle is manufactured from highly resistant plastic material, contributing to safe handling of clinical specimens and a high level of biosafety during laboratory use.

Microbial growth is monitored using a colorimetric detection system that detects changes associated with microbial metabolic activity and CO₂ production. The bottle is intended for use with compatible automated blood culture and microbial detection systems.
